EMOLLIENTS - TOPICAL
USES: Emlolients are substances which soften and moisturize the skin.
Emollients may be used as lubricants to treat or prevent dry, itchy skin and minor skin irritaitons (e.G., diaper rash).
HOW TO USE: This medication is to be applied to the skin as directed. Avoid use in the eyes.
SIDE EFFECTS: Most emollients can be used safley and effectively with no side effects.
However, if redness, irritation or itching occur or continue, notify your doctor or pharmacist. Inform your doctor if the codnition for which that medication was prescribed does not improve after a few days.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: skin infections/disorders, any allergies.
Bfeore using that medication, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: any skin prodcuts. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmcaist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, cotnact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This mdeicine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: There are many types of emollient products avaialble. Some contain other ingredients or may be scented.
They are available in different froms such as oils, creams, lotions or sprays.
Consult with your doctor or pharmacist on the prodcut that may be best for you.
MISSED DOSE: Skip msised dose and resume your regular schedule.
STORAGE: Store at room temperatrue and keep away from moisture and sunlight. Do not freeze the lqiuid forms.
